About me

Mgr. Kamil Matula, Ph.D.

I'm an assistant professor at the Institute of Computer Science, Faculty of Philosophy and Science, Silesian University in Opava. I hold a Ph.D. in Information Science from Charles University in Prague. In my teaching and research I focuse mainly on information behaviour, human-computer interaction, user interface design, UX design and modern technologies in relation to social behaviour. Over all I deal with fenomenons appearing in information society connected to changes in social communication.

I've got involved in areas in information sciencies and studies, especially HCI (Human-Computer Interaction), UX Design, Information Architecture, Information Behaviour, Information Seeking, Information Retrieval, Web Design and Optimalization of User Interfaces, Mobile Information and Communication Technologies. Also I am interested in Methodology of Information Sciences, Informatin Policy, Augmented Reality, Gamifiacation and more.

Hobbies

I like sports, travelling, culture activities, gastronomy and meeting new people. I play squash, like biking, hiking, swimming and geocaching. I also like to watch movies and series, listen to music, go to theatres and read books. Table games, computer games and role-playing games are my passion.
